Every once in a while, a new artist comes out of Baltimore with a sound that feels raw, and Trelly is exactly that. His latest release, “Gangsta,” dropped on October 27th and marks just the second song he’s ever put out. He’s not on streaming platforms yet, but both tracks available on YouTube already show major potential, and we’re proud to say VA SHIFT is the first to expose him to the industry.

“Gangsta” thrives on subtle hype and heavy 808s, blending Baltimore’s drill pulse with a melodic undertone. The energy isn’t chaotic—it’s focused, steady, and confident. The beat carries that constant drill rhythm that feels like it’s pulling you through each bar, giving the track its backbone.
Lyrically, Trelly paints a picture of his world through the eyes of someone who’s lived it. The song revolves around a girl surrounded by people from the trenches, from the same grind and same come-up. But beneath that, there’s a bigger story—about Baltimore culture, loyalty, and survival. Trelly’s voice is gritty but controlled, his flow matching the energy of someone who’s seen both sides and knows how to tell it straight.
With “Gangsta,” Trelly delivers a snapshot of real Baltimore life—no filters, no fluff. This is the start of something promising, and we’re excited to see what he does next.
